You think 435 fairly well to-do, mostly white men, should make that decision?
Anthony Weiner advocating that the decision for what women should be able to do with their bodies should be a decision made between a woman and her doctor, not determined by a committee of congressmen. Video here. (via soupsoup)
And so it begins
Ok, already- I’m doing it.
This blog is being written for my best friend, so when she returns from a year of doing good in a far off cornerof the world, a place with little internet access and even less cell reception (my personal nightmare), she will have a digital diary from which she will be able to discern that I have done far less than she in the year we were technologically separated.
Who am I? A typical romantic, I guess, but in the Fitzgeraldian sense, as in, “the sentimental person thinks things will last— the romantic person has a desperate confidence that they won’t,” which isn’t to say I’m melancholic, just at times overly pensive. I believe in most of the intangibles, like God and love and Truth, although I do not think this is the forum to philosophize on such issues. Instead, I’d like this blog to be a frank rendering of my life-humorous, sad, most likely mundane- because if one cannot be honest under the anonymity of the internet, then where? So here it is blogosphere- my life in posts. I’m doing it.
